Aromatic Note: The aroma is citrusy, yet fruity and sweet with a warm, spicy, floral quality, and is reminiscent of Neroli, giving a middle note of medium strength.
Blends Well With: Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Mandarin, Nutmeg, Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang-ylang and just about everything!
Historical Uses: Bergamot essential oil naturally assists with depression, sadness and grief, is very uplifting and calming and is known to assist in the treatment of high blood pressure, alleviating pain, aiding in digestion, fighting infection and combating oily skin and acne.
How to Use: Add 3-6 drops in a diffuser, a couple of drops to your diffuser blend, or a drop or two with a carrier oil in the bath or a massage blend. Always dilute with a carrier oil prior to using on the skin. If pregnant, lactating or taking medication consult a physician prior to use. Avoid eyes, mucus membranes and sensitive skin. May cause photosensitivity.
Around the House: For a natural yet powerful anti-microbial and anti-viral home cleaning agent, Bergamot essential oil can be blended with Grapefruit essential oil, then diluted in water and shaken inside a spray bottle before being put to use as a surface cleaner. This mix will not only disinfect but also deodorize by eliminating odor-causing bacteria.
