Grapefruit essential oil is wonderfully energizing, uplifting and happy. While many people may not care to eat the fruit, they will be surprised at how wonderful the aroma of the essential oil is! It blends so well with Frankincense as well as woody oils like Cypress and Juniper.

Aromatic Note: A middle note with a medium aroma, Grapefruit Pink has a fresh, sweet citrus smell that is very tangy and tart but also sweet.

Blends Well With: Other citrus such as Bergamot, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Orange and Tangerine, as well as other oils like Cardamom, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Rosemary and generally most spice oils.

Historical Uses: Grapefruit essential oil is also used to reduce stress, stimulate circulation, increase energy, enhance mood and improve digestion. This jewel of an oil is also very effective in helping the body remove toxins and help stimulate the lymphatic system. When used as an ingredient in personal-care products, Grapefruit essential oil is said to treat oily hair and skin. Grapefruit oil possesses high antioxidant, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.

How to Use: Add 3-6 drops in a diffuser, a couple of drops to your diffuser blend, or a drop or two with a carrier oil in the bath or a massage blend. Always dilute with a carrier oil prior to using on the skin. If pregnant, lactating or taking medication consult a physician prior to use. Avoid eyes, mucus membranes and sensitive skin. May cause photosensitivity.

Around the House: Air freshener and deodorizer — its fragrance is similar to citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. It can eliminate unpleasant odors in kitchens and bathrooms.
