Our Copaiba Balsam essential oil is referred to as a balsam, however it is not a true balsam. Native to Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela, this amazing oil is extracted by tapping or drilling holes into the trunk of the tree. Historically, the Copaiba Balsam oil was used as a fixative in colognes and perfumes. Today, its amazing health qualities are coming to light, making it a must-have in your essential oil collection.

Processing Method: Extracted directly from the tree

Aromatic Note: A soft, woody base note with a slight hint of sweetness to it.

Blends Well With: Oils from the floral and spice families, oils with Oriental bases, and with lovely oils like Rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Frankincense and Vetiver. It can also support the softer qualities of oils such as Ylang-ylang or Vanilla.

Historical Uses: Emotionally, Copaiba essential oil is calming, balancing and grounding. Physically, Copaiba is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and has excellent pain relieving properties. It is also known to naturally assist bronchitis, colds, stress and skin conditions. Copaiba is said to increase the effectiveness of the other oils it is used with, making it a great essential oil for natural healing.

How to Use: Add 3-6 drops in a diffuser, a couple of drops to your diffuser blend, or a drop or two with a carrier oil in a massage blend. Always dilute with a carrier oil prior to using on the skin. If pregnant, lactating or taking medication consult a physician prior to use. Avoid eyes, mucus membranes and sensitive skin.
