Heloise's Generic Cream Soup Base

1 cup nonfat dried milk powder
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot powder
2 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Serves 2
Mix all the ingredients and store in an airtight container
Soup
2 cups cold water
1/2 cup main ingredient (mushrooms, mixed vegetables, cubed chicken, etc.)
Add the water to the mix in a large saucepan and stir constantly over medium
heat until thick. Add the main ingredient of your choice and cook until done.
If the soup is too thick, add more water and stir thoroughly over medium heat.
Add other seasoning of your choice.
Heloise's No Salt Spice Substitute

Ingredients:
5 teaspoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
Mix all ingredients and store in a tightly covered
container in a cool, dark place.
