Pumpkin Apple Butter
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree
1 apple, peeled and grated
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup maple syrup
3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice or 1/4 teaspoon each ground
cinnamon and nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in medium, heavy bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce
heat to low. Cook over low heat for 11/2 hours stirring occasionally. Serve with biscuits,
breads, toast, or muffins. Store in refrigerator in container with tightly fitting lid.
